Evening Walk

It has been very hot and rainy week. The average temps were about 90F/33C and humidity was sometimes hard to bear. Wearing a mask in this weather is not an easy task, believe me!
Anyway...
I decided to go for a walk this evening despite all the heaviness in the air and still ever so slightly dripping rain. And I am glad I did. It was a bit cooler by the river and not only I managed to do four miles before it got dark but also took some pictures. The clouds were very low and the bluish atmosphere looked absolutely beautiful. Felt sorry for not having a decent camera but as they say "It is what it is".

A long awaited book has finally arrived! Yay!!!!!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Monday.........

Mondays are weird.
This week especially I felt like I could use one more day off to rest and regroup. I'm proud of myself though because I tackled some chores that I had kept postponing for forever and ever! So finally, they are done and my list of chores got somewhat shorter.
Somewhat...

I also watched the Out of Africa movie, maybe fifth time or so but for some reason got intrigued by it enough to buy a book. Still waiting for it to come. I hope I will not be disappointed! Sometimes movies are better than the books, and in this case we are talking about Meryl Streep and Robert Redford. On the other hand, the baroness Blixen/ Isak Dinesen seems to be a very eccentric figure, so maybe it will be a treat.

Otherwise, life goes on.

Spoiled myself with yummy sushi on one day. On some other, I actually cooked miso soup from a scratch!

2020

It has been a very long break.
But I suppose I can use pandemic as my excuse! In 2020 everything is upside down anyways...
Some are out of work. I ended up working more. On one had, it is a positive feeling. On the other, I simply have less time for anything else. And yet, I still manage to watch the Downton Abbey... Correction. Not watch. Binge watch.
What else?
The summer is very hot and muggy this year.
Cats are okay.

This is a picture of Hans when he was a tiny kitten with his favorite toy/sort of teddy bear. He would sleep wit it. I think he felt lonely. He abandoned the toy when I adopted Hana, so I guess I was right about the loneliness factor. Hans is eight years old now, very stoic and beautiful cat.
