Weekend off

It finally happened: not only I had a weekend off but also the weather cooperated and I managed to do some stuff in the garden. It is still quite cold, meaning 50-60F or 10-16C, but the weeds do not mind and grow like crazy. With constant rain and snow (yes, yes, it was snowing last week!), I was unable to do anything about it. This weekend though, the weather was perfect, so I tackled several projects.
1) I moved the lawn- first time this year. The grass is dormant during the winter but it started coming up finally.
2) Got fresh mulch at the front, so now the whole entrance looks quite presentable. That was a serious workout, especially that I did everything in one day and after running 9 miles in the morning.
3) Did some general sweeping and leaves/sticks picking.

Mud-slide

Last week I went to the stream in the woods behind my house and noticed the water was all yellow. Yuck! That's the same stream from last year's post: https://martagoebelartworks.blogspot.com/2017/02/
It was absolutely beautiful place, clear water and now it looked like someone spilled gallons of coffee!
It only meant one thing, unfortunately: MUDSLIDE.
I went up the stream and there it was... Still very dangerous. My pictures do not show the scale of it. It's about half a mile log, so almost 800-900 meters. Tons of clay. Trees uprooted like little matches but those were old, huge oaks.
Very sad and scary scene.

Spring- WHERE ARE YOU?????

Okay, so it's Spring. Or rather, it should be...
All my plants are back in the house. I have a cold. It's gloomy and windy, and the weather sucks BIG TIME!!!!!!!!
